If there's one thing Florida does well, it's Halloween season.

Family on the Lost Pearl in Tampa

While we may not get crisp autumn weather or colorful fall leaves, we make up for it with pumpkin patches, trick-or-treat trails, themed attractions, seasonal treats, and plenty of family-friendly Halloween fun. As a self-proclaimed Halloween scaredy-cat, I'm always looking for events that capture the magic of the season without being too scary for younger kids.

Looking for the best family-friendly Halloween events in Florida? From Halloween events in Orlando to Tampa to zoo celebrations, aquarium adventures, fall festivals, pirate cruises, and Disney Halloween favorites, we've rounded up some of our favorite ways to celebrate spooky season with kids.

Disclosure: Some experiences included in this guide were provided for media review. As always, all opinions are my own.

LEGOLAND Florida Brick-or-Treat

LEGOLAND Florida's Brick-or-Treat continues to be one of our favorite family-friendly Halloween events in Florida.

This year's celebration introduces the brand-new Brick-or-Treat Street, an immersive walkthrough experience where families can trick-or-treat through the homes of LEGO monsters while helping build a giant Halloween creation. Guests can also enjoy themed entertainment, seasonal snacks, character encounters, and candy stations throughout the park.

What we love most about Brick-or-Treat is that it's designed specifically for families. It's festive, colorful, interactive, and fun without feeling overwhelming for younger children.

We were hosted for this experience, but all opinions are my own.

SEA LIFE Orlando's Pirates of the Haunted Seas

If you have an ocean-loving kids or adults like me, Pirates of the Haunted Seas is a fantastic Halloween adventure.

Guests can follow a treasure map through the aquarium, solve clues, complete challenges, and learn about fascinating marine life along the way. On select dates, visitors can also meet pirate characters that add even more interactive fun to the experience.

As a shark-loving family, this event was an easy favorite. It's the perfect combination of Halloween fun, marine education, and hands-on adventure.

Tampa Pirate Ship Halloween Cruise

Looking for a Halloween experience on the water? The Tampa Pirate Ship's Halloween Pirate Cruise combines swashbuckling adventures, interactive entertainment, and family-friendly Halloween fun aboard a real pirate ship. Kids can join the pirate crew, participate in activities, and enjoy a unique seasonal experience that feels completely different from a traditional Halloween event.

This was such a fun way to celebrate Halloween and a great option for families with pirate-loving kids.

Dinosaur World's Jurassic Haunt

Dinosaurs are already cool. Dinosaurs after dark during Halloween season? Even better.

Jurassic Haunt combines dinosaurs, pirate-themed adventures, glowing pathways, family-friendly scares, themed entertainment, face painting, temporary tattoos, and nighttime exploration throughout the park.

This event strikes a great balance between spooky and fun, making it a fantastic option for families who want Halloween excitement without traditional haunted house scares.

ZooTampa's Creatures of the Night

One of our favorite new Halloween experiences this season was Creatures of the Night at ZooTampa.

The zoo transforms after dark with immersive themed areas, specialty treats, live entertainment, and Halloween adventures around every cornerWe especially appreciated being ablety to choose your own level of spooky. Older kids and thrill-seekers can explore the event's scare zones, while younger guests can enjoy family-friendly Halloween fun in areas designed with little ones in mind

.

We loved seeing the zoo transformed at night and thought it offered something for every age group.

We were hosted for this experience, but all opinions are my own.

Dade City Farms Fall Festival

While not strictly a Halloween event, Dade City Farms delivers all the fall vibes.

From farm animals and pumpkins to family activities and picture-perfect photo opportunities, it's a wonderful way to celebrate the season. The atmosphere feels relaxed and nostalgic, making it an easy addition to any family's fall bucket list.

And whatever you do, don't leave without trying the apple cider slushie and fresh donuts. Trust me, they're worth the trip all on their own.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

No Florida Halloween guide would be complete without Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

This year we enjoyed trick-or-treating throughout Magic Kingdom, seeing favorite Disney characters in costume, enjoying exclusive Halloween entertainment, and watching the always-popular Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. Not to mention all the candy to take home!

While it is a separately ticketed event, it remains one of the most magical ways for families to celebrate Halloween together.

Central Florida Zoo's Zoo Boo Bash

Zoo Boo Bash is one of Central Florida's most popular family Halloween events, featuring trick-or-treat stations, themed entertainment, festive activities, and animal encounters throughout the zoo.

The Florida Aquarium does an excellent job blending marine life encounters with family-friendly Halloween activities. It's a fantastic option for children and ocean-loving families looking for a unique alternative to traditional Halloween events. We're hoping to fit in another visit before the season ends.

Disney Cruise Line's Halloween on the High Seas

While Halloween on the High Seas isn't a traditional Florida theme park event, it absolutely deserves a spot on this list.

If you're planning a fall cruise vacation, this is one of the most unique ways to celebrate Halloween with the family.

Tim Hortons

Tim Hortons was one of our fav spots when we lived in Buffalo, so now having one in Bradenton, FL makes it so much better!

Me with timbits and apple ice capp

During the Halloween season, keep an eye out for their festive specialty beverages and the popular Apple Cider Timbits, which make the perfect on-the-go snack while you're out exploring fall festivals and Halloween events around Florida. Also, an adorable Timbit bucket!
